Community Arts

Energizing our community through arts excellence includes supporting cultural arts groups, artists, and programs. Grants, professional workshops, publicity, and calendar coordination are among the ways that the arts council nourishes a flourishing arts community.

The arts create a sense of place and an identity for communities. From the beginning of time human beings naturally express thoughts and feelings through art – singing, dancing, writing, acting, drawing, painting… The arts reach down and touch us deep inside. They inspire, comfort, and excite both the creator and the audience.

Communities with active cultural arts programs take tremendous pride in their neighborhood and are pleased to invite guests to visit. The arts open minds and lead the way to good communication and clever ways to solve issues. The arts bring audiences to our county along with their need to eat, shop and purchase tickets.

By supporting arts groups and programs the arts council serves our community in a fundamental way that benefits all citizens.
