CABARRUS ARTS COUNCIL GRANT PROGRAMS
The Cabarrus Arts Council allocates thousands of dollars annually to support arts organizations and cultural programs across Cabarrus County. Funding for these grants comes from the North Carolina Arts Council Grassroots Arts Program and the Cabarrus Arts Council's annual fundraising efforts. We thank the corporations, local governments, individuals and the state of North Carolina who support the Cabarrus Arts Council.
Over 265,000 participants benefit from programs and organizations supported by arts council grants. $50,000 in grants generated $1,064,526.00 in support of the arts in Cabarrus County.
Grants are awarded through a competitive process that is reviewed by a panel of community citizens. No recipients are guaranteed from year to year. No grants are available at other times during the year.

ORGANIZATION SUPPORT GRANTS
These grants support non-profit arts organizations in Cabarrus County. The purpose of these grants is to stabilize and strengthen arts organizations that provide high quality cultural programming for the citizens of Cabarrus County. Eligible organizations have a 501(c)(3) non-profit status, a mission that focuses solely on the arts, are located in Cabarrus County and provide at least 75% of their programs in the county. Funds may be used to support program, operating and administrative costs.

PROJECT ASSISTANCE GRANTS
These grants support cultural arts programs in Cabarrus County . The purpose of these grants is to support programs of artistic merit that have community or statewide impact. Project Assistance Grants support exemplary forms of artistic expression in a variety of artistic disciplines. Eligibility does not extend to religious organizations or for internal programs at colleges or libraries. Funding may be considered when an institution is developing a program that involves and serves the community, reaching beyond its usual audience.

ARTS EDUCATION GRANTS
These grants are available to pre-school, elementary, middle and high schools in Cabarrus County to bring professional artists into the school setting. The purpose of these grants is to supplement the school curriculum and to awaken students' intellectual and creative curiosity. Public and private schools in Cabarrus County are eligible for these grants which may only be used for art programs that the school does not provide on a normal basis. Priority will be given to residency programs and to schools that are using artists that they have not used previously.

REGIONAL ARTIST PROJECT GRANTS
These grants offer support to Cabarrus County artists, helping each further his or her professional development. Individual artists and small, unincorporated groups are eligible to apply.
All applications are due no later than NOON on Thursday, September 22, 2011.

Art Walk
6-9 PM
Visual art displays all over downtown Concord and demonstrations by three artists in The Galleries. Stay late and enjoy a series of short films in the Davis Theatre beginning at 9 p.m.
