THE ARTS COUNCIL HAS MOVED!

The Cabarrus Arts Council’s offices have moved to the Historic Courthouse at 65 South Union Street in Concord.  The arts council’s phone number has also changed to 704-920-ARTS (2787).

“We are extremely excited about moving to the beautiful courthouse, which is itself a work of art,” said Noelle Scott, Executive Director.  “It will be a visible and convenient location for us that will offer new opportunities for the arts council to grow.  We look forward to being there and also to working with the building’s other tenant, Historic Cabarrus.”

The move will enable the arts council to enhance the arts in our community, according to Scott.  The arts council plans to create a small gallery for exhibitions that will showcase the work of local, regional and national artists.   We also will bring a performing arts series to the beautiful theater upstairs in the renovated courtroom.

The Historic Courthouse is owned by Cabarrus County.  “We would like to thank the Cabarrus County Commissioners, County Manager John Day and Assistant County Manager Mike Downs for their vision and confidence in the arts council,” said Scott.

It is not without sadness that we leave the Glenn Center, though.  We are extremely grateful to the Glenn Center staff for their hard work on our behalf, and we’ll miss them.  We also are thankful to Dr. Harold Winkler and the Cabarrus County Schools for generously donating office space to our organization for more than five years.
