     Want an easy way to volunteer for your child’s elementary school and the Cabarrus Arts Council at the same time?  Become an Art Enrichment volunteer!
In the Art Enrichment program, volunteers take reproductions of famous works of art to elementary classrooms for short lessons.  No knowledge art is required as there’s information with each piece.
Orientations for new volunteers will be held Friday, October 6, and Thursday, October 19, at 10 a.m.  Another time will be arranged for people who are unable to come either date.  For information or to register, please contact Pat Verner at 704-920-ARTS (2787) or pat@cabarrusartscouncil.org.
Visual artists and filmmakers are eligible to apply for Regional Artist Grants.
These grants provide artists with support to enhance their artistic development. Emerging artists may apply for up to $3,000 and established artists for up to $5,000.
The grant program is offered by the arts councils of Cabarrus, Cleveland, Gaston, Iredell, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, Rutherford and York, SC, counties. Artists who have lived in these counties for at least one year are eligible. The North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, the Blumenthal Endowment and the arts councils support the program.
The application deadline is Friday, September 15, at noon.  Applications are available at www.cabarrusartscouncil.org.
