Barnhardt will be in charge of the galleries that will soon be developed on the first floor of the historic Cabarrus courthouse and other visual arts programs. Although the arts council is still seeking funding for galleries, we’ve had no trouble keeping him busy. Barnhardt creates clay reconstructions of architecture. His miniature of the J. W. Cannon House hung on the 2001 White House Christmas tree and he was one of the artists featured on HGTV’s Christmas special. He has received two Regional Artist Grants, the most recent of which supported a series of works based on paintings by American artist Edward Hopper. Barnhardt’s Hopper works will be shown at the Dockside Theatre in
“The arts council is so fortunate to have Lin on our staff,” said Noelle Scott, Executive Director. “His creativity and knowledge in the field of visual art will ensure that our new galleries will show the kind of exhibitions that will put us on the map. Our community truly has a lot to look forward to because of Lin’s energy and commitment to this project.”
